We Also Built
Reasoning Chain
A novel assessment tool we built within STEM Fluency that goes beyond multiple choice. Instructors needed a way to test whether students can actually reason through a problem, not just pick the right answer. So we built it.
The Problem
Multiple choice questions can tell you if a student knows the answer, but not if they understand the reasoning. Researchers needed a tool that assesses whether students can construct a logical argument from scratch, not just recognize one.
What We Built
A drag-and-drop assessment where instructors create questions with four components, and students must assemble them into a coherent logical chain:
